about

EN: In Greek mythology, Mnemósine or Mnemosina (in ancient Greek Μνημοσύνη Mnēmosýnē, from μνήμη mnêmē, 'memory') was one of the Titanides, personification of memory and recollection and inventor of language and words.

The river of the memory.
Mnemosyne was also the name of a river in Hades, opposite to Lethe, according to a series of Greek funerary inscriptions from the 4th century BC. c.; in these myths, the souls of the dead drank from the River Lethe so that they could not remember their previous lives when reincarnated, and initiates were encouraged to drink from the River Mnemosyne when they died. In the same way, those who wished to consult the oracle of Trophonius in Boeotia were made to drink alternately from two sources called "Lete" and "Mnemosyne". A similar procedure is described in the myth of Er at the end of Plato's "The Republic".
